The ODaF Europe 2010 meeting will take place at the Library and IT Services, Tilburg University, Netherlands on July 7th-8th. This year’s theme focuses on the rapidly growing topic of Semantic Statistics. The presentations and discussions will focus on recent activity regarding SDMX, DDI, ISO/IEC 11179, RDF serialization, and the standards and technologies involved in the Linked Data Web. This regional event is open to all members as well as individuals and agencies interested to learn more about ODaF, get involved in our actvities or simply share ideas. A workshop on health data management, sponsored by the UK Medical Research Council and the Open Data Foundation, will be held at the Institute of Child Health, London, on Thursday August 11th, 2011. The purpose is to examine the potential benefits of information standards such as the Data Documentation Initiative (DDI) and the Statistical Data and Metadata Exchange Standard (SDMX) to support effective data management and sharing amongst the public health research community and promote greater transparency to the funding agencies and general public.
