We are pleased to announce that the ODaF Europe 2009 meeting will be held at at the International Data Service Center (IDSC) of the Institute for the Study of Labor (IZA) in Bonn, Germany on April 2-3. This regional event is open to all members as well as individuals and agencies interested to learn more about ODaF, get involved in our activities or simply share ideas.
We are a currently finalizing the agenda (see web page for latest version). The theme will focus on metadata in research data centers. The first day will start with a brief introduction of ODaF and an update on our completed, ongoing and planned activities. This will be followed by thematic presentations by participants. The second day will focus on new ideas, suggestions and discussions of the action plan for moving the organization forward in the European region. If you wish to make a short presentation (20′) of your organization’s activities or on a particular topic, please let us know and we’ll do our best to integrate it in the program.

For lodging, we have a set of rooms locked in for Apr 1 – Apr 4 at the Bonn Hilton (http://www.hilton.de/bonn) at a preferred group rate of â‚¬ 115 per night. The location very close to the city center and within walking distance to IZA. However, due to a concurrent World Bank / UNESCO conference, hotel space in the area is very limited and we cannot hold these rooms beyond February 26th. If you wish to confirm a reservation at this rate, do not call the hotel directly. Note that participants are responsible for their travel and lodging costs, this is not included in the event registration.
